THE LACES OF MONTMIRAIL

THE LACES OF MONTMIRAIL

A paradise for climbing, hiking and wine tourism near Mont Ventoux

World-famous climbing site, this site will seduce you for its landscapes of remarkable harmony and its vineyards cultivated in terraces that you will discover by browsing the many hiking trails that crisscross the Dentelles massif. Hiking trails, mountain biking trails, wine tourism routes, the Dentelles offer a multitude of activities.
This rugged massif stretches for about 8 kilometers between Carpentras , Vaison la Romaine and Mont Ventoux , its name comes from its jagged limestone ridges due to erosion. The Dentelles stand out clearly from the landscape in the middle of olive groves and AOC vines, they dress the deep blue Mediterranean sky with a collar.
Its walls, visible from the plain, are extremely coveted, as much by birds, such as the Great Duke owl - nesting all year round - or the tichodrome echelette - who like to come back in the spring - as by men, keen on climbing - especially of rock-climbing - who can train there in any season, in order to face even higher cliffs.
If you prefer to enjoy nature, without having to climb the slopes of the lace, here are some remarkable sites where you can picnic while contemplating the horizon:

  • The Saracen Lace and the Grand Montmirail,
  • The crest of the Hall,
  • The crest of Cayron and Saint-Amand (highest point at 730m),
  • The Alsau pass and the Cayron pass,
  • Ambrosi cave and the Rocher du Midi (belvedere).
